Chevy and GMC make the same trucks, The only difference is the grills, and the name. Sometimes they even share names. 1500 is used to signify what ton the truck is rated to carry. A 1500 is a 1/2 Ton Truck, a 2500 is a 3/4 Ton Truck, and a 3500 is a 1 Ton Truck. Pickups and Suburbans can be 1500,2500, or 3500. I believe Tahoes are only come in 1500's or 1/2 tons. Chevy does make the Suburban, but they use to use the same name because they were the same vehicle and still are(Now GMC uses the Yukon name). Buick Regals came equipped with a one-piece fuel sending unit, an in-tank fuel pump and a fuel filter for the 1998 model year. Debris and small particulates that could foul the injectors are removed by the fine screen of the filter. Fuel filters may be cleaned with solvent and compressed air, but if they become too dirty, they must be replaced. Symptoms of a clogged fuel filter include poor performance, rough idle, hard starting, stumbling upon acceleration, engine misses, stalling and eventually a non-running condition.

Step by Step :

Open the fuel door, then remove the fuel cap by hand.

Locate the fuse box under the passenger side of the dashboard. Open the fuse box, then remove the fuel pump fuse with a fuse puller.

Start the engine. Run the engine until it stalls from lack of fuel. Turn the engine over with the key for three seconds to finish purging the fuel system.

Open the hood, then remove the battery's negative cable with a wrench.

Step by Step :

Open the trunk. Pull the bottom liner free from the trunk by hand, then remove it fully from the vehicle.

Remove seven nuts holding down the fuel pump access cover, using a wrench. Lift the cover up and off the cover studs.

Remove the fuel pump retainer with a pair of inside snap-ring pliers. Carefully lift the pump assembly out of the tank. Use caution when handling the pump assembly, as the float and float arm are delicate and can be easily damaged.

Carefully pry the fuel filter off the pump intake nipple, using a flat screwdriver.

Install the new fuel filter onto the pump intake nipple.

Reverse the disassembly steps to reassemble the fuel filter on the Regal.
Tips & Warnings
If you are replacing the fuel filter as part of troubleshooting a fuel delivery problem, inspect the fuel pump fuse after removing from the fuse box. Inspect the fuse through its sight window to see if it is blown. The conductor in the fuse sight window will be burned if the fuse is blown. Replace the fuse if it is blown and test the vehicle before replacing the fuel filter.

Use caution when working on a gasoline fuel system. Perform all operations in a well-ventilated area, away from enclosed spaces or pilot lights (such as on a natural gas water heater). Use caution when using steel tools on the fuel system, as a spark could ignite gas fumes and cause an explosion.

You may have heard that the fuel filter on a 2005 KIA Sorento is a permanent filter, and that you don't have to worry about it unless you have a problem. This is not true; replacing your fuel filter is a very important part of the routine maintenance of your car, and extends the life of your Sorento. It's recommended to replace the fuel filter every two years or 24,000 miles.

Step by Step :

Park your car in the shade, turn it off, lift the hood and let it cool off for at least 15 minutes. Extinguish cigarettes or other lit objects because these may start a fire.

Use a flat-head screwdriver to take off the plastic covering on top of the engine and look for the fuel line. It is a thin, long tube that runs to the fuel tank and connects to the fuel filter with a little clamp.

Use a Phillips screwdriver to pry the clamp off, and then immediately stick a pencil into the end of the fuel line to stop it up and prevent gas from dripping out.

Locate the bolts that hold the fuel filter in place. Find a socket that fits the bolts, loosen them and take off the filter. Remove the hose coming out of the other end of the filter just like you removed the fuel line in Step 2. Plug it up with another pencil.

Position the replacement filter the same way the old filter was positioned, so the fuel will flow in the correct direction through the filter.

Locate the two plastic shafts coming out of each end of the filter where you attach the hoses. When you reattach the hoses, push the hoses as far as possible into the plastic shafts. Reattach the hoses in reverse order you took them off in Steps 2 and 4.

Check that all reassembled hoses and clips are tight and secure. Turn on your car and run the engine for 2 to 3 minutes. Look at the connections and hoses around the fuel filter and check that no fuel leaks out.
Tips & Warnings
If you notice that the hoses running into and out from your fuel filter are getting frayed or brittle, buy new hoses and replace them next time you change your fuel filter.
